Born Tupac Amaru Shakur in New York City, he grew up primarily on the streets of Oakland, California. His first breakthrough in music came in 1991 as a member of the group Digital Underground. In the same year he received individual recognition for his album "2Pacalypse Now," but this album was also the beginning of his notoriety as a leading figure of the gangsta permutation of hip-hop, with references to cop killing and sexual violence. His solo movie career also began in this year with Juice (1992), and in 1992 he co-starred with Janet Jackson in Poetic Justice (1993).
But law confrontations were soon to come: a 15-day jail term in 1994 for assault and battery and, in 1995, a conviction for sexual assault of a female fan. He was released after serving eight months pending an appeal, but following the Tyson vs Seldon fight in Las Vegas, Nevada, he was hit by four bullets while riding in a car driven by Death Row Records chief executive Marion 'Suge' Knight. His right lung was removed in emergency surgery and, after six days in a medical coma, he died.
2 pac was shot and killed before he had a chance to fulfill the promise of a successful career in both fields. He was born in New York City and his mother, Afeni Shakur, was a member of the Black Panther Party. Shakur spent much of his youth in Oakland, California, where he first gained notice as an MC in 1991 with the group Digital Underground. Later that year, he released a solo album, "2Pacalypse Now." Filled with violent lyrics that promoted cop killing and misogyny, it earned both notoriety and acclaim for fans of the genre. Shakur began his acting career in the late 1980s with an appearance on the television series "A Different World" (1987). He made his feature film debut in 1992 with the film Juice (1992) and followed it up, co-starring with Janet Jackson, in Poetic Justice (1993) in 1993. Shakur had a certain charisma that always made him stand out in his films. This was especially true in Gridlock'd (1997) which proved that the versatile young artist had the makings of being a major star. Unfortunately, he was murdered during a drive-by shooting outside a Las Vegas, Nevada, hotel a few months before its release.
Tupac Shakur was one of the most successful MCs of all time. Even after his death, he has sold a total of 67 million records worldwide making him the highest selling rap/hip-hop artist of all time! Tupac is widely regarded as the greatest rapper of all time. Moreover, a recent poll in MTV placed him as the #1 MC of all time. However, 2Pac was much more than that. His strong lyrical content grew a huge array of followers, making him a hero among millions. He was a great poet and his theory on life influenced his fans to a huge extent. He was indeed the Rose That Grew from Concrete, whose ever-successful work couldn't have been more admired and loved.

"The Night I Won The Rights To Streets Of Memphis
-Beyond the line essay-
Q: How would you feel if you father left you?
A:"I kill you" bamm there goes the stick clonk over the boys head. This is a story about nice boy who losses his control because a gang kept beating him up, and his mother kept smacking him around I would go crazy to, but maybe its because he did not have a father. Do you have a father? Well I do and if I did not I would feel 3 different ways mad, hurt, and confused.
First I would feel pretty mad because he left me and my mom. I would probably be mad at the world being mean all the time and hurting people's feelings not even knowing. Then I would feel sad because to not have a father could hurt a young man and help one, but me personally I need my dad. He taught me how to play sports, he taught me lessons, corrected me when i was wrong, but most of all he was always there when I needed him.
Second I would feel hurt. I would feel hurt because I wont know why he left it could of been because of me I don't know, and that would hurt even more. I would probably also mope around, be mad at the world, and not to the best that I could do in my life. This would also hurt because I would not have a father to look up to, and to teach me how to be a man. It would put more pressure on my mother having to raise me her way, and have to take my fathers job too. I would not want to do that to my mother.
Lastly I would feel confused. I would feel confused because I wouldn't know how to hang out with my father and not to know what it feels like to have my father buy me stuff, watch sports with, and care for me. Also when my friends say my dad bought me that, or my dad is taking me I would feel sad not to have a father to say them things to my friends.
To wrap things up what would I do if my father left? I would feel mad, hurt, and confused. Don't take your family for granted because one day their there then the next their not. So just think about not having a father and tell me how you would feel.

4 Questions Between the line for "The Night I Won The Rights to Memphs"
Q: What events could of happened if the mother let the Richard in?
A: Well I think that two things could of happened if the mother let the boy in. One the mother might of beat him for not picking up for himself. Second the mother could of took him in and helped him, but she did not.
Q: What questions would you ask if you could meet Richard?
A: The 3 questions I would ask Ricard are how did you get the courage to go out there and fight?, second I would ask how did it feel to have your mother smack you in the face?, and finally I would ask him how he feels about his father leaving? and that's the 3 questions I would ask him.
Q: Can you compare and contrast "The Night I Won The Rights To The Streets of Memphis" by Richard Wright to "The Use Of Force" By William Carlson Williams?
A: Yes I can well they are the some what the same because they both use force in The Night I Won The Rights To the Streets Of Memphis" the force is with the gang, mother, and Richard fighting and smacking and just plan violence on the other hand "The Use Of Force" the violence was with the doctor, dad, and the little girl. That was just the doctor just trying to figure out if the girl had diphtheria and after all she did. They are different because one is about gang violence and won is about a girl who had a disease and the doctor was trying to find that out, but all together in both stories they used force.
Q: What was the problem with the mother?
A: Well I think the poblem with mother was that her husband and the father of her child left her and she was kinda blaming that on Richard and she wants to see him in payne just as she is feeling now but I dont think that she should blamed it in him she is some what a bad mother and good mother.
